When did you first call yourself a writer?
To myself, in high school, when I finished the first draft of an over 200 page manuscript. To other people, I still feel weird calling myself a writer. I probably blush when others refer to me as one.
Which of your characters do you relate to the most and why?
My most autobiographical work is my only contemporary novel (and the only one set on the west coast), Corroded. Mary would be the one I relate to the most as her high school experience was similar to mine, though…
